Wasn’t the TR8 V8 not related to the Rover, or was that just the Stag?

The TR8 is just a Rover V8 that was used in Triumphs. The Stag used Triumph’s own 3.0 V8 which loved to overheat as we all know so they made the switch to the Rover V8 for later cars but it’s called a Triumph engine to save face.

That engine started out as a GM engine that started life in 1960 and went on in different configurations in Europe until 2006.

The old Buick block is still going strong today in Rally Defenders from Bowler.
